It's Mizani Honey!!!

So some of you may know that I have been wanting to use Mizani exclusively, but I was hesitant because every moisturizer I saw had mineral oil in it, so I refrained. Well I found some that did not!!! Now the H2O Overnight Treatment does contain mineral oil, but I only use it once a week; Wednesday. Then wash day is Sunday. My hair loves this stuff, never has it felt so soft and buttery smooth. I mean really!! I may have used those adjectives to describe other products before lol but Mizani is the BUSINESS!!! I still have other products that I need to get. My next is the Hydrafuse Deep Tx or D'Tangle the leave in....we will see....but I am oober excited!!!

Ready?? Set!!! GOal!!!!

How did you all do on your Feburary goals??

Ehhh mine were so/so; here's the run down!

1.Maintain regimen.....YEP!!!That is easy tho :-P
2.No direct heat... FAIL!!!
I decided to flat iron to use the Split Ender.

3.Minimal manipulation...ehhhhh
I guess it depends on what you call minimal...I did wig the entire month and only manipulated my hair on wash days. But this last 4 days of Feburary I have been wearing a phony pony. which causes a bit of manipulation as I like them to be tight

4.Protective style 95%.... ACCOMPLISHED
100% wigging, bunning, and not a phony pony!

5.Finally reach 150 pounds.....I gotta get my sexy back! ...IDK :-/
I really dont! 1 thing for sure...this entire month I have worked out consistently at least 3 days per weeks!!! I was down to 152...but now it is THAT time of the month and I am hella bloated so when I weighed myself it said 157 :-( Which I know FO SHO is not accurate!!

On to MARCH GOALS!!!!

IDK if it is even necessary to continue to add to the list but I will anyway.

1. Maintain regimen
2. Protective Style 95% of the time
4. Workout 4x/ week.
5. Drink 1 GALLON of water per day...every day!
6. No direct heat.

I will admit that I do see a relaxer in my near future...but that's another post...WHAT ARE YOUR MARCH GOALS???

Split Ender!!!

So I ordered the Split Ender Thursday night, and recieved it in the mail, the following Tuesday evening. I am currently 8 weeks post....I decided to flat iron on Monday so that I could use the split ender on straight hair...OMG....that was one battle....that I absolutely lost!!! I did not do it on a fresh wash, so my new growth was really hard and tighly coiled, when trying to comb through, I encountered many knots....I could not get the new growth straightend...I worked on my left side of my hair from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM and got so disgusted that I took a break and finished up at 4:30 :-/ Ridiculous right?? Well Tuesday comes and I receive the split ender, I placed it mid shaft and it would not go smoothly through the hair piece :-/ (Majority of my hair is texlaxed...not by choice :-/, but slid through the straighter portion with ease. I went over each piece 3 times as instructed so by the 3rd time it however did go through the entire section easily. I was so distraught by my new growth that I implemented an emergency cowash (Aussie Moist), DC (Aussie 3 Minute Miracle) & Oil Rinse (Grapeseed Oil), I rinsed the oil out the next morning using Mizani Moisturefuse. Pulled back in a pony tail and allowed to air dry. I then re-flatironed my hair and had better result....still couldn't make my underprocessed hair bone straight tho :-(
This is my 1st time using to as a first impression

Would I recommend this product to anyone else?
Yes!! It did what is says that it will do without taking away any length.

What would I recommend during use?
Me personally I have chosen to only use this after a fresh relaxer, not meaning immediately after a relaxer, but maybe 3 weeks post, before new growth begins to creep in.

This is what was taken from my entire head; the last real trim I had was in April 2011.

As you can see on the right (pre split ender) you can tell where my hair is texlaxed (as it contains texture still) and the ends are bone straight.
On the left is after a second flat ironing and after the split ender as well.

This is my progress from 12/31 to now :

Manhatten Style Queen Review

So I ended up not getting the braids because they would have taken about 16 hours in the shop and the braider was charging me $300. I can certaintly find something else to spend my money on. So I went and bought 2 wigs. Queen as my everyday style...and Monaco girl as my sexy outting wig. Queen is Futura synthetic and she curls easy. I have had her for a week now, NO SHEDDING!!!!! Thank Goodness!!! Not many tangles. She hasn't gotten all frizzy and worn out looking, and I have worn her everyday, except Valentine's day. I've seen other wigs from this collection and I must say that I am impressed, it is of very good quality!!

Here are a few others I'd love to try!!!

Shay's Shea Mix :-)

Ok, so I'm no hair professional and I actually googled different Shea Butter Recipes but when it came down to doing it, I ended up doing my own thing! I did not google or research whether or not these items could be mixed or what may happen if they are lol. I just kinda noted what I liked about each item and made up my own concotion.

1 cup of Pure Shea Butter
1 tblspn of Coconut Oil
1 TBLSPN of EVOO
a dribble of Castor Oil (which coagulated....and I ended up removing)
2 teaspoons of Aloe Vera Juice
1 teaspoon of Shea Butter Body Butter (which after reading the ingredients I regretted adding)

I cowashed my hair as ususal with V05 Clarifying Conditioner.
DC'd with Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque for about 2 hours.
ACV Rinse
Silk Elements Megasilk Leave In Condtioner
Lastly applied my Shea Butter Mix and let air dry...

Results???

HAIR FELT LIKE A CLOUD, CHARMINS DOUBLE ROLL, A BABY'S BOTTOM!!!!! FAB!!!

I am using this mix as a sealant...so here are the properties in each ingredient that played a part in my decision.

Shea Butter... Love using as a sealant.

Coconut Oil -has high moisture retaining capacity, since it is not broken down easily nor evaporated, being very stable. It does not let moisture escape thus keeping hair moistened and soft. This prevents breakage of hair. Coconut Oil is a far better conditioner for hair than any synthetic one available in the market.

EVOO- When used on the hair, extra virgin olive oil can nourish, condition and improve the strength and elasticity.
Due to it's ability to penetrate the hair shaft, this rich moisturizing oil can reach the cortex of the hair, allowing the hair to feel conditioned, nourished, and healthy with each use.

Aloe Vera Juice- I love this as a moisturizer....LOVE IT!

Shea Butter Body Blends- I added just to add a hint of their ingredients in it....however; I did not read the label until AFTER I added it...needless to say I was a bit disgisted...alcohol and lanolin (altho Lanolin was like the 2nd to last ingredient)...Still my next batch, I will not be including this.

My Funny Valentine!!

I am late, but I hope everyone enjoyed their day!!! I know I DID!!!! My husband and I went to a wine and chocolate tasting, and listened to live jazz!!! The setting was very romantic and relaxing...We talked about the hanging art, laughed at others outfit choices lol (DJU), tried to figure out other married couples from daters (well that was me) lol...and most of all we just joked and laughed!!!! I mean it was a new setting for us, outside of the regular restaraunts or hip hop clubs. It was laid back and romantic yet we remained our goofy selves, and I just had a ball!!! Afterwards we went to see Safe House. Which to me was cool, in the action department...from the beginning of the movie until the end it was action packed. However; the storyline/plot....ehhh I've seen it before....What's the movie called with Mos Def & Bruce Willis?? 18 Blocks or something like that??? Yea!! Oh not to mention even before the date night we had spent all day being goofy together...so we ended the night after the movie, went home and cuddled up!!! My 18 month old son was being a hater....so yea...cuddling is all that I got!!! LOL

We didn't exchange gifts. Valentine for me is about the LOVE...not the gifts, & I don't really get all that excited about "expected" gifts. Ya know...I'd much rather him just show up on a random Tuesday with jewelry, rather than Valentine's day. I'm not knocking the gift exchange don't get me wrong, as boyfriend and girlfriend we did it, and I kinda measured his fondness of me by the gifts that he bought lol, but now that we are married, it just seems kinda "blahh" I know that he loves me, so the gift itself holds no meaning...it's just material!!! But boy that date was AWESOME!!!
Just had to share!!! Hope you all had a LOVEly evening as well :-**

BTW**The piece I am wearing is "Monaco Girl" by Freestress!!

Regimen For Box Braids.

For real this time I have decide to get box braids. Some of you may have read past posts of me freaking out, scared of breakage, but I am doing it!! This Sunday!!! So I cowashed today with V05 Clarifying Conditioner, and used Aphogee 2 min Recon. to give my hair a bit of a protein boost. I did not do an all out protein treatment because the last time I used Aphogee was Jan. 28, and since then I had been alternating between protein and moisturizing DCs..as well as using a protein moisturizer once a week. So I did not want to go into protein overload. After rinsing the Aphogee out, I cowashed one more time, using Mizani Moisturefuse. I blow dried it, and now I am bunning. Tomorrow, I plan to baggy while I am asleep, jus to get some moisture in before the braids are installed.

So if anyof you are inquiring Box Braids, I found this helpful website.
