Wig Review: Equal Lace Front "Deep Invisible Part" :Nelly

I purchased this wig today from my local BSS. It is a 'pre cut' lace front which I LOVE because, I know nothing about cutting the lace off...which is one of the reasons that I have always steered clear from lace fronts. Another reason is because I did not want to be the one that ends up with that dreaded "Barbie" looking hair line, you guys know the look that I am talking about. Well when I came across "Nelly" it was completel upon chance, I was simply browsing, she looked simple and cute, I tried her on, and she looked so natural that, I just stared into the mirror right then, lost in the moment just bouncing her around, and hair flipping like I owned the piece!! I then tried on a few other "Equal" pieces, one with big loose sexy curls!! I really liked that one too, but I was wanting something simple with an "everyday" appeal. So I went back to Nelly! She cost $49.99 (Though I saw on Blackhairspray.com they had her for $39.99), which isn't too bad. I just hope that she does not tangle or become frizzy too soon. So far I have not ran into any tangles, but then again it is only day one. I will do an update review in about a week or two as well. She is made of futura fiber, which means that she is curling iron safe for up to 400 degrees. I purchased her in the color 99J, which is a burgundy/wine color.

I have had tons of compliments, and some could not even tell that it was a wig, and said that the hair looked so natural, like real hair. Well her she and I are....
What do YOU think???

PhotoI guess that she is about 14" long, layered.

Manhatten Style Queen Review

So I ended up not getting the braids because they would have taken about 16 hours in the shop and the braider was charging me $300. I can certaintly find something else to spend my money on. So I went and bought 2 wigs. Queen as my everyday style...and Monaco girl as my sexy outting wig. Queen is Futura synthetic and she curls easy. I have had her for a week now, NO SHEDDING!!!!! Thank Goodness!!! Not many tangles. She hasn't gotten all frizzy and worn out looking, and I have worn her everyday, except Valentine's day. I've seen other wigs from this collection and I must say that I am impressed, it is of very good quality!!

Here are a few others I'd love to try!!!

My Funny Valentine!!

I am late, but I hope everyone enjoyed their day!!! I know I DID!!!! My husband and I went to a wine and chocolate tasting, and listened to live jazz!!! The setting was very romantic and relaxing...We talked about the hanging art, laughed at others outfit choices lol (DJU), tried to figure out other married couples from daters (well that was me) lol...and most of all we just joked and laughed!!!! I mean it was a new setting for us, outside of the regular restaraunts or hip hop clubs. It was laid back and romantic yet we remained our goofy selves, and I just had a ball!!! Afterwards we went to see Safe House. Which to me was cool, in the action department...from the beginning of the movie until the end it was action packed. However; the storyline/plot....ehhh I've seen it before....What's the movie called with Mos Def & Bruce Willis?? 18 Blocks or something like that??? Yea!! Oh not to mention even before the date night we had spent all day being goofy together...so we ended the night after the movie, went home and cuddled up!!! My 18 month old son was being a hater....so yea...cuddling is all that I got!!! LOL

We didn't exchange gifts. Valentine for me is about the LOVE...not the gifts, & I don't really get all that excited about "expected" gifts. Ya know...I'd much rather him just show up on a random Tuesday with jewelry, rather than Valentine's day. I'm not knocking the gift exchange don't get me wrong, as boyfriend and girlfriend we did it, and I kinda measured his fondness of me by the gifts that he bought lol, but now that we are married, it just seems kinda "blahh" I know that he loves me, so the gift itself holds no meaning...it's just material!!! But boy that date was AWESOME!!!
Just had to share!!! Hope you all had a LOVEly evening as well :-**

BTW**The piece I am wearing is "Monaco Girl" by Freestress!!

African American with Indian Hair???

Hi all!!! This post is about MY choice of wigs over weaves. When watching Chris Rock's "Good Hair" doc, there is one line that still to this day (after 3 years) that sticks to me...and rubs me the wrong way, "You are african american with indian hair" (or something along that line). To me I visualized me, braiding my own hair down, covering my african american hair with indian hair, as if my hair own wasn't good enough to show off. I felt that way 3 years ago, before even starting an HHJ. It was then when I became anti-weaves/ human hair. To me, when I cover my hair with synthetic wigs, it feels like it is just a hat to cover my hair, but when I spend $300 to install some other nationalities hair on top of my hair, it just rubs me the wrong way, I feel like I am disrespecting my hair, in the sense of saying what I was born with is not pretty enough. Why choose their hair over my own, with wigs, I feel like I am not choosing "hair" moreso a hair style....whether it be long, short, curly, straight. I have seen girls "brag" about the type of weave they have whether it be "Indian, Malaysian" or whatever they have now days, I'm just thinking...and what about YOUR hair??

Don't get me wrong I know sew ins are a protective style, and I respect that. If you choose sew ins over wigs, I highly suggest you spend that kind of money on that kind of hair, bc trust me nothing is more infuriating than spending $150 on an install, with hair that will tangle in 3 weeks (been there) lol.

My thoughts regarding the matter is mainly aimed at those, who do not properly care for their hair, yet keep a weave in, not for protective reasons but moreso to look good. You know those, that keep a weave in year after year and you catch them at the salon with a lil nub of a pony tail??? #WhyTho?? LOL

This post is not targeted at anyone, or to make anyone feel inferior about their choices. Although I'm sure noone who is reding this blog has a little "nub" of a ponytail...and if they do, they're ready to make a change TODAY!!! & I commend you for that :-)

This is just a reflection of why I choose wigs over weaves...and the answer is simply "I feel uncomfortable wearing other humans hair....when I have my own" :-)

THANKS FOR READING GUYS!!!! HOPE YOU'VE HAD A SUPER WEEKEND SO FAR!!!

WELCOME TO LAZYVILLE!!!!

So I've gone back to wigging...its simple easy and allows a break from my hair!! Last Sunday I washed, moisturized, sealed it, allowed it to air dry, pulled it back...and have not touched it since lol...now what I will have to go through come Monday is a whole different post lol....

In the past 2 weeks, I have purchased 4 different wigs....smh I know.. 1 was a curly cue by Freetress...Material Girl, she tangled and frizzed to easy...besides she was a whole wig that looked to wiggy and I couldnt style her as a half, so I chunked her after a few days...

I LOOOOVED her bounce and body tho!!

I then got "Nicki" by....i dont remember, just because I am a die hard Nicki Minaj fan...she is a long straight bob, short in the back.....she is cute...but I HATE chinese bangs, I knew this before I bought her, but being a Barb, I overlooked it...until I had to wear her...UGH!!!! LOL theeeeen I added curls in her, and though it was cute....just wasnt't the same....not only that I was planning a date night with my hubster...and I NEEDED something a bit more sexy :-).....

and the back!!

That brings us to....LFE-Poly...I think she is by Freetress (I will have to go back and check) she is a Lacefront...($69.99 online, $99.00 at my BSS lol) She broke my LF virginity...and proud of my 1st timer results I have fallen in love!!! She looks so natural, I just whip her back and forth :-D....

so where does the 4th one come in??

Well I was over Nicki...and seeing that Poly cost me $100 and is synthetic I decided to save her for special occassions...so I bought this curly cue as my everyday wear hair :-)
Cute and simple

Needless to say, I am in BSS jail lol no more wigs until November...lol these past 2 weeks were ridiculous!!! LOL

Oh and I forgot about her...I actually bought her AFTER Material Girl...and before Nicki...I bought Nicki bc hubby thought I looked silly in brown hair....or at least that was my excuse lol...I actually gave her to my mom...but now I want her back :-/

Current Look :-)

I told you all that I was a fan of big hair, long hair, and curly hair...While Creta Girl is ALLLLLL of that....This is one of my all time fav!!

She last a long time (a month) which is pretty good for a synthetic piece...she looks very real!!! (as in human hair) My 1st time wearing her I had at least 4 women ask me what kind of hair this was....and I am not shamed one bit to say its a half wig :-) I literally had to like just leave her lying around the floor to get her to get frizzy and messy...I thought she would never go!! LOL So she is my "Staple" I guess u can say...I always keep her around, when she frizzes and tangles up on me, I just go and repurchase her :-)

Wigging

Right now I am wearing wigs until my hair is in healthier condition. This is Cleopatra by Milkyway Weavemaster I do believe. She is human hair, 12 inches, sheds a bit, but I love her none the less. She is actually a bit boring for my taste I like lots of curls, but she is my work hair.I cut mine into layers just for a touch of style, My sophisticated and professional look.
